ELS is very pleased to announce that the Nashville center will be relocating to the campus of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) as of the session beginning January 5, 2009. We are very excited about this relocation, as it will provide ELS students an improved study environment, opportunities to meet fellow American students, much improved campus offerings, and incentives for matriculation into a comprehensive public university.
Middle Tennessee State University’s campus is located just south of Nashville and is in the heart of the fastest growing areas, and one of the largest retail/shopping areas in the whole state of Tennessee. In addition to access to the entertainment opportunities in Nashville, students now have access to many activities and venues on campus. Each session, ELS will continue to have special activities associated with the downtown atmosphere of Nashville but can now offer much more for our students.
Additionally, our ELS students will be able to earn university credit while in attendance at the ELS center. Every 4 sessions of study, students will earn one university credit hour, which will count towards students’ degrees as elective courses. A student who enters at the beginning levels of ELS can matriculate to MTSU with a full three university credit hours ? all at no additional costs to the student.

ELS is also pleased to announce that students will have access to improved student housing options. Housing per session will be $600, which is a $50 increase over the printed pricing; however, the housing rate will remain the same for all current students and all bookings made before December 15, 2008. All student housing offers the following:
ㆍPrivate, furnished rooms, with full size beds
ㆍPrivate bathroom in each bedroom
ㆍShared kitchen and living areas
ㆍOn-site computer lab
ㆍOn-site outdoor pool and hot tubOn-site gymnasium, weight room, cardio room, and tanning beds
ㆍOn-site, 24-seat movie theater
ㆍ24/7 security and on-site resident assistants ? just for ELS students
The student housing is located on the south side of the MTSU campus, near the recreational facilities of the university, and is adjacent to a Wal-Mart and numerous restaurants, including a Starbucks. Transportation is provided from the student housing to the ELS classrooms each morning, with additional trips planned each session to area shopping malls.

For undergraduate and graduate admissions, MTSU offers conditional admission. MTSU also accepts completion of ELS 110 for undergraduate admission and ELS 112 for graduate admission. |

미국 테네시 주 중부 러더포드 군의 군청소재지(1811)이며 시. 내슈빌 남동쪽 48㎞ 지점, 스톤스 강의 서쪽 지류 가장자리에 있습니다. 1811년 독립전쟁 참전용사 윌리엄 라이틀 대령이 기증한 땅에 세워졌으며 그의 친구인 하디 머프리 대령의 이름을 따서 명명되었습니다. 1819~25년에 테네시 주의 주도였습니다. 남북전쟁 격전지가 북서쪽으로 4.8㎞ 떨어진 곳에 있다(1862. 12. 31~1863. 1. 2).
이 전투에서는 윌리엄 S. 로즈크랜스가 이끈 북군이 브랙스턴 브래그의 남군에게 전략적인 승리를 거두었습니다. 스톤스 강 국립격전지유적은 이 전투를 추모하기 위한 것이다(→ 스톤스 강 전투). 이곳은 혼합경제체제의 도시로 젖소와 식용소를 사육하며 테네시 워킹호스(승용마), 마장마술용 말, 조랑말, 경주용 말로도 유명합니다.
낙농식품이 가공되며, 제조업으로는 전기난방용품ㆍ전기모터ㆍ가구ㆍ삼목제품 등을 생산합니다. 미들테네시주립대학교(1911)가 시내에 있습니다. 1817년에 시가 되었습니다. 인구 46,273(1992). |
