Michigan State University, East Lansing
Michigan State University, one of the most prestigious universities in the US, has shaped the development of the township of East Lansing. The English Language Center was set up by Eurocentres in 1990 and has gained the reputation of being one of the top English programs in American academic study.
The university, located some sixty miles from Detroit, is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful in the country. Illustrious Michigan State University has some of the best facilities for learning, sports and leisure. The English Language Center is fully integrated in the main campus and has a multimedia learning center, video laboratory, and audio language laboratory. The town nestles around the campus, so shops and entertainment are close by.
* Courses:
English Language Center: 4 to 16 weeks; 20 x 50 minutes lessons per week for 4-week courses (5 days a week) or 20 x 60 of lessons for 7 to 16 week courses (4 days a week). Students wishing to study at MSU may later move on to the English for academic purposes program.

* Accommodation (Campus life)
Most students live on the University Housing campus. Students aged 18 to 21 normally stay in an undergraduate dormitory, while students aged 21 or over can chose to stay at the Owen Graduate Center, which is intended for graduates and more mature students. Married couples can apply for suitable accommodation, consisting of self-contained furnished apartments. Early booking is vital for the latter. The Undergraduate dormitory offers full board; Owen Graduate Center offers half board, while the accommodation for married couples is self-catering.
All the dormitories offer TV lounges, snack bars, quiet study areas, games rooms and a full social program and are within walking distance of the ELC. |

미국 미시간주(州) 남중부에 있는 도시. 인구는 4만 6525명(2000)입니다. 미시간주 남중부 레드세더강(江) 연안에 있으며 주택도시이자 대학도시입니다. 미시간대학교가 1855년에 정부 소유 토지를 교육용으로 불하받아 건설된 지역으로서 미시간 농업대학이 설립되기까지 랜싱시(市)의 동부 외곽지대였습니다.
1887~1907년에 칼리지빌로 알려졌던 곳으로 1907년 시(市)로 인가되면서 주의회가 이스트랜싱시로 새로 건설했습니다. 현재는 미시간주 주도인 랜싱시(市)와 하나의 광역시권을 이룹니다. |
